Calumet Wildlife Workshops

I have joined forces with the highly respected Calumet Photographic company, which started life as a small sporting goods company in Chicago in 1939 is now one of the leading brands around the world with branches across the US and in five European countries.

My aim is to offer some fantastic practical one and two day seminars in some great locations where you will learn many tips and techniques, most of which I use in my own work as a wildlife photographer. You can then put these into practise within your own work which will improve your photography, at the same time learning more about the wildlife that you see and capture with your camera.

I share my knowledge and enthusiasm for wildlife, and I enjoy sharing my vast accumulated experience of the natural world and passionate about helping each of my clients hone his or her photographic vision. You’ll be shooting side by side with me in the field, learning many skills which will improve your own photography on so many levels.

My workshops will show you the simple techniques I use which have improved my own photography of which I will pass them on to you. I will show you how to approach your subject using my proven fieldcraft skills without causing any distress to the animal, in turn letting them relax around you and presenting you with the best opportunities to photograph their beauty, expressions and behaviour.

All the workshops are open to all skill levels and backgrounds within wildlife photography.

I will also show you some simple and easy to remember ‘tracking’ skills mastered from my military background to help you read the signs of wildlife all around you, so you can start to build a picture of what is happening around you and use these skills in the future. Where fieldcraft is the most important skill to learn which in turn will help you capture those moments from nature at the same time letting you see and learn about how the subject conducts their lives within the wild.

On all of these days we will be working with wild animals within their natural habitats as I believe this is the only true and real way in which people will learn the key skill of fieldcraft which then will improve the photography side of things.

I have two day courses in the beautiful Peak District, during Winter and  Summer, photographing the wonderful wildlife that lives in this at times hostile environment with an amazing backdrop of moorlands and rocky outcrops.

For those that live in and around the capital I will be doing a two day Beauty of Wildlife two day workshop at Calumets Drummond Street branch. Photographing the wildlife that live in and around Rainham Marshes.

Norfolk has been a place I have visited since I was a child, its wildlife has always amazed me none more so than the Spring or Summer Tides as others may call these amazing events in natures calendar. In conjunction with Calumet  I will be running two trips there one in July and the other in September. The first day will we meet at the lovely Briarfields Hotel, Norfolk in the evening where I will present you with some images and slideshows showing the wildlife you may see on these days.

Going through how I got the images and giving you lots of help and advice in readiness for the early start the following day as we venture out to witness this spectacular event. For more information and booking through Calumet Photographic then please click on this link
